ISO recording, explained

A live stream is one mixed video: every guest composited into a single frame, every voice on one track. That’s exactly what you want live — and exactly what you don’t want in the edit.

What ISO recording does

ISO (isolated) recording captures each participant’s own camera and microphone as a separate file, at full quality, unaffected by anyone’s network hiccups in the mix. Your editor gets clean multitrack material: cut between angles, fix one person’s audio, reframe for clips.

How KrewCast does it

When the host toggles Record ISO, every participant’s browser records its own local camera and mic and streams the file to cloud storage in the background — no downloads, nothing for guests to install or remember to upload. Tracks appear in your studio, grouped by session.
